For most of us, the lights just magically appear one day, but for our Town Council there’s a lot more to it! Every year, the funds they allocate for our Christmas lights go towards leasing the lights, all the electrical testing, the permissions and license needed to install them from KCC, not to mention the hire of the machinery to put them up and take them down again after the festivities have ended. In addition, every three years they also have to pay additional fees to load test every lamp post!

Let’s face it, it just wouldn’t be Christmas without Christmas Lights (we may be bias in thinking that of course) and we’d miss them brightening up our high street on dark nights, so lets all give a big thank you to the Council for making sure they happen!
